Friday 17th December 2010 at 23:00 hrs

An 18 year old male was reported overdue from a walk on Bodmin Moor in the Rough Tor area. Three family members had also gone to look for him. Icy roads, falling snow and snow on the moor with more forecast added to the concerns and complications.

One team member headed directly towards Camelford to liaise with police, whilst the rest of the team met at Bodmin police station to be collected by Rescue helicopter 169 from RMB Chivenor and deployed directly on to the moor.

News came through that the male had been located in St Breward, however again, due to the treacherous road conditions, it was safer to send a team member in a 4x4 to collect him. The team then remained at Bodmin police station until confirmation had come through that the rest of the family were safely off the hill.
