Incidents 2012

[4] - Menheniot, Search

Wednesday 18th January 2012 at 18:30 hrs

The team were requested to assist police in searching a disused quarry for a despondent missing person after his car had been located nearby. Due to the limited nature of the search and the quarry being water filled in places, a partial call out was initiated, accompanied with a request for SARDA search dogs to attend.

Sadly, whilst team members were at the RV point a body was located by police outside of the initial search area at the bottom of a 20 ft embankment. The search dogs were then stood down and the team evacuated the body to the nearest road.

[3] - Newquay, Search

Sunday 8th January 2012 at 14:45 hrs

Full team call out to search areas in and around Fistral beach alongside police, HM Coastguard and RNLI for a high risk 26 year old male missing person.

Unfortunately despite extensive searches, he was not located. A body was washed ashore Tolcarne Beach on Friday believed to be the missing person. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.
