:: Incidents Information and
Lists
The Team deals with a wide variety of
incidents each year. These can be anywhere, any weather and at any time. CSRT is
available 24 hours a day, every day of the year and has been called to moorland,
countryside, town and coastal searches, major incidents and rescues, during the
day and at three in the morning, on a hot summers day or snowy moorland – and
one year we even had an incident on Boxing Day!
Due to the nature of the training, equipment and skills within the Team, we are
primarily called in to assist the Cornish emergency services and neighbouring
search and rescue teams, and these call outs appear above. To see previous
statistics, please click on the year you would like to see.
Team members regularly train in mountainous areas across the UK and can be
called on to assist the local teams, and these will also be included on our
statistics.
We work closely with the
Search and Rescue Dog Association - England,
which is a voluntary organisation responsible for the training of experienced
rescue team members to become Handlers of air scenting search and rescue dogs,
enabling them to search for missing persons, predominantly in the mountains and
high moorlands, also increasingly, in lowland, rural and urban areas of Britain.
CSRT hopes to have its’ first search dog trained soon.
Our call outs average one every few days, so please keep on calling back to read
details of our latest news and shouts – and find out how you can support us.
