A BIG "thanks" to Pete's Dragons!

Pete's Dragons are the friends and family of Peter Wicks, who we searched for in January this year, assisted by neighbouring teams from Dartmoor. Sadly, Pete was found after four days of searching, having tragically passed away at the young age of 24.
Recognising the service that the voluntary search and rescue teams provide to the community, Pete's Dragons was formed and they have just launched their website. You can read of their quest there, and also find details of their mammoth bike ride from Lands End to Twickenham, set for September this year. Please visit their website and give your support - either financially or on the roadside!!!
So far they have already organised a car boot sale, and on Saturday we sent a small team and vehicle to their Fundraising Fete in aid of the team and also Dartmoor Rescue Group.

Cornwall Search and Rescue Team is proud to have been shortlisted to the final three community groups for the Saints Award. Saint Awards Presentation Night" style="margin-bottom: 15px; margin-right: 15px;" /> The Saints Awards recognises people and groups living and working within the PL22 to PL26 postcode who make St Austell and its surrounding areas special. The team, which is based in St Dennis has been nominated in the Community Groups category - which celebrates the contribution to the local community by an organisation.
CSRT which is a registered charity, responds to call outs from the police, fire and ambulance services across the county for missing and injured people, last year being called to 39 incidents. Since being founded in 2003, the team has been called to around 380 incidents, ranging from missing children to major weather events.
